LOCAL LAUNCH OF THE O. R. TAMBO AFRICA RESEARCH CHAIRS INITIATIVE
The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) is proud to announce the first ever Research Chairs in Zambia, under the auspices of the Oliver Tambo Africa Research Chairs Initiative (ORTARChI)
Compliments to Prof. Imasiku Anayawa Nyambe, the Research Chair holder for the Water Conservation Research Chair, hosted at the University of Zambia (UNZA) and Prof. Stephen Syampungani, Research Chair holder for the Research Chair in Environment and Development, hosted at the Copperbelt University (CBU).
The initiative is an innovative way of supporting world-class research that addresses issues of national and regional importance, and builds on the work of Oliver Reginald Tambo, a prominent South African Leader and Pan-Africanist with a science education background, and who believed in creating change through education and in cooperation and solidarity among African nations.
