
Overview
The Science, Technology and Innovation Youth Fund (STIYF) is a government initiative under the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) that empowers Zambian youth to turn innovative ideas into tangible solutions. The fund supports activities in research, product development, and entrepreneurship aligned with national development priorities.
Objectives
- Promote research and innovation among Zambian youth
- Support the development and commercialization of innovative products
- Encourage participation of female and differently-abled youth in STI
- Build capacity for youth-led problem-solving in communities
- Contribute to Zambia’s transition to a knowledge-based economy
Who Can Apply?
📌 Eligibility Criteria:
- Zambian youth aged 18–35 years
- Must have a valid NRC
- Applications can be individual or team-based (with a leader)
- Must demonstrate technical knowledge and potential impact

Funding Details
💰 Funding Limit: ZMW 1,000,000 per project
⏳ Project Duration: Typically 6 to 12 months
🚫 Ineligible Costs: Salaries, unrelated travel, unrelated consultancy fees
Reporting and Monitoring
Submission of Progress and Final Reports
Disbursements made in tranches based on performance
Monitoring by NSTC and/or independent experts
Intellectual Property rights will follow national policy & signed agreements
